Tawny at last

Got me a Tawny Owl this evening at Prestwick Carr. Fantastic.

Its there honest

This was the best view i could get to photograph it other than going into the field and standing underneath. Which one does not do.

Thanks to Andy Cowell (i think he was called) who entertained me whilst there, Bloody nice man.

Also had a Snipe calling from the top of a tree, very weird. I have never witnessed this before. It kept returning to the same spot.

Snipe sitting high up calling

And of course the RNP at Prestwick village. Poor thing keeps trying to feed its reflection by the look of it. Thanks again to Andy for pointing it out to me.

Other birds noted were : Linnet, Willow Warbler, Gropper, Reed Bunting, Yellowhammer, Swift, Swallow, House Martin and a Roe Harrier. Yes i mistook a Roe Deer rear end (Much to Andy's amusement) for the top of a Female Marsh Harrier Head. It was some distance over in the woods. Its easy done.
